Sara Swanson

Filled with a passion for creating modern, innovative designs, jewelry designer Sara Swanson finds inspiration in the environment around her. Sara works primarily in silver and gold, and incorporates accents of precious and semi-precious stones to reflect the organic characteristics inherent in nature.

Sara spent her childhood in Nebraska, where she was surrounded by a vast landscape of textures and silhouettes. She has been creating jewelry since she was young, at first digging through a bucket of her grandmother’s jewelry and re-making necklaces from beads and stones.

Her contemporary interpretations of nature provide timeless, distinct pieces to be enjoyed for years to come. Sara’s goal is for women to feel a sense of joy when wearing her designs. “I want each person to feel like they are wearing a special piece of art that can be worn every day.”

Sara’s career in jewelry design follows her successful profession as Graphic Designer and Art Director in the fashion industry. After taking a metalsmith class, she was hooked, and a new career was born. Her background in fine arts is evident in every piece of jewelry that she creates; each item is meticulously handcrafted in her studio, with great care and attention to detail. She personally sets every stone by hand, and each hammer mark reflects the individual uniqueness of each piece.

Sara currently resides and works in the Pittsburgh area with her husband and three animal friends.
